OK maybe you guys have seen this before but I haven't... I was out showing houses and came across this door mat made of real smooth black rocks. when I stepped on it ...aaahhhhh, felt like a massage 🙌
Who knows anything about these little gems... I would like to know. Otherwise I have to go rock hunting which actually sounds like a great excuse to head to the river.

The name Marchegian -- which is pronounced "mark-a-john" -- refers to a region in central Italy on the Adriatic Sea called Le Marche. There are hundreds of families in Greater New Haven that trace their lineage back to men and women from Le Marche who resettled in America in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

In those years, it became common for immigrant groups to organize social clubs and mutual aid societies to find employment, support needy individuals and preserve their native culture.

"It's that common bond," Baldelli explains. "Jobs were fairly difficult to come by, unless you knew somebody who needed somebody. People banded together for comfort. On Sundays, years ago, you couldn't get in here for all the people playing cards."
