All the time, I hear people say, “Real estate is the easy way out.”
And honestly… before I got into this business, I probably would have thought the same thing.
You see the pretty houses, the sold posts, the closing photos, the happy clients…
What you don’t see is everything that happens behind those pictures.
I’m still a newer agent. I’m still building my name, my business, and my future one client at a time.
And I’ll be honest… there have been moments where I’ve questioned myself.
Moments where I’ve wondered if I was doing enough. If I was going to make it. If all of the time, money, late nights, and sacrifices were actually going to pay off.
Because starting a business from the ground up is HARD.
Sometimes it’s working a part-time job while trying to build a career you believe in.
It’s sitting through an open house for two hours and having nobody walk through the door.
It’s paying for MLS dues, schooling, brokerage fees, gas, marketing, and a million other expenses before you’ve even made your first dollar.
It’s carrying your laptop everywhere because you never know when your client is going to need you.
It’s answering texts late at night.
It’s having deals fall apart.
It’s hearing “no.” over and over
It’s watching other people succeed and wondering when it will finally be your turn.
But then something happens that reminds you exactly why you started.
You watch a first-time homebuyer walk through a house and realize they’re picturing their life there.
You get to tell someone, “You actually CAN do this,” when they were convinced homeownership wasn’t possible for them.
You get the phone call after months of searching:
“WE GOT ACCEPTED.”
You see the excitement in a young couple’s eyes when they realize they’re about to own their first home.
You hand someone the keys and realize that, in some small way, you helped change the direction of their life.
And THAT is what makes every difficult day worth it.
I’m learning that being a good Realtor isn’t about knowing everything or having years of experience.
It’s about showing up.
It’s about caring.
It’s about continuing to learn.
It’s about answering the phone when your client is overwhelmed, fighting for your clients when things get difficult, and celebrating with them when everything finally comes together.
I may be newer to this business, but I’m not taking this opportunity for granted.
I know how hard it is to build something from nothing.
And I know I have so much more to learn, but I also know how badly I want this.
I don’t want to be here just for the commission checks or the pretty pictures.
I want to build a career that I’m proud of.
I want my clients to know they can trust me.
I want to be the person a first-time buyer calls when they have no idea where to start.
I want to build relationships that last far beyond the closing table.
And most importantly, I want to be the kind of agent who keeps showing up — even when it’s hard.
Because real estate may look easy from the outside.
But I’m learning that the hardest parts are often the most rewarding.
And I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. ❤️🏡
Here’s to being new, being scared, figuring it out as I go, and STILL showing up.
I’m just getting started. ❤️
