🎆 Fireworks Ordinance Reminder 🎆

As we approach the 4th of July, the Griffith Police Department would like to remind residents of the Town’s fireworks ordinance.

Consumer fireworks may only be used in Griffith during the following times:

• June 29 – July 3: 5:00 PM until two hours after sunset
• July 4: 10:00 AM until midnight
• July 5 – July 9: 5:00 PM until two hours after sunset

We ask everyone to celebrate responsibly, be respectful of neighbors, veterans, children, pets, and those who may be sensitive to loud noises, and always keep safety as the top priority.

Indiana State Form 12662 is the Certificate of Eligibility for the Disabled Veteran Tax Deduction/Credit. It is a mandatory document used by veterans and eligible surviving spouses to verify their military service and disability status in order to claim crucial property tax relief.

The Munster Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officer Candidates for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for current vacancies. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and no older than 40 years of age at time of appointment and must be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. Application packets may be obtained in person at the Munster Police Department, 1001 Ridge Road, Munster, IN 46321. Application fee is $25.00 and deadline is 4:00pm., Monday, July 6, 2026. The countdown is on! The 2026 Broad Street Blues & BBQ Festival kicks off this Friday, June 12, and the Griffith Police Department is looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors to Central Park for a fantastic weekend of music, food, and community fun.

Our officers will be on-site throughout the event working alongside Griffith Fire Department, VEST volunteers, event staff, and other public safety partners to help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

The Broad Street Blues & BBQ Festival is one of Griffith's signature events, and we are proud to be part of making it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
