🌪️ HURRICANE SEASON COUNTDOWN: 0 DAYS LEFT! 🌪️📣💬
Well, neighbors… the countdown is officially over. Hurricane season is here! 😅
As a lifelong Citrus County local, I’ve learned that Floridians have a special relationship with hurricane season: we buy snacks, charge our devices, and suddenly become amateur meteorologists. ☀️➡️⛈️
For those who recently moved to Citrus County or into a flood-prone area, here are a few quick tips:
📣 Know your evacuation zone before a storm is approaching.
📣 Sign up for local emergency alerts and weather notifications.
📣 Review your flood insurance policy—most policies have waiting periods before coverage begins.
📣 Keep important documents in a waterproof container or digital backup.
📣 Stock up on essentials early (water, batteries, medications, pet supplies, and snacks).
📣 Trim tree branches and secure outdoor furniture before storms threaten.
📣 Have a plan for pets, family members, and special medical needs.
📣 Never drive through flooded roadways—“Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
📣 Fill your gas tank when a storm enters the Gulf. Waiting until the last minute can mean long lines.
📣 If you’re new to Florida, don’t panic over every tropical disturbance. Stay informed through trusted local sources and follow official guidance.
🌴 Welcome to Florida living! Most hurricane seasons pass with little impact, but being prepared now makes a huge difference if a storm does head our way.
💬 If you’re new to Citrus County, what’s been the biggest surprise about living here so far? I’d love to hear it!
