It has been a LOOONG winter season and I've taken some much needed time to regroup with family and friends and focus on the truly valuable parts of life. I enjoyed the New England cold along with a couple of large snow storms and Nor'Easters this season, but now it is time for spring to bless us with her warmth and signs of new growth (coming soon, I promise!).
However, I haven't stopped helping our clients with their important real estate needs over the winter months and building move plans for 2026! The spring market has already hit and many properties are seeing bidding wars and selling well over the asking price. It's not too late if you want to sell your home this spring to take advantage of the budding market, and if you're looking to purchase, it is important to remember there are more negotiation tactics than just the overall purchase price.
And if you want to buy a home "someday," a word of advice: the price of homes is not coming down any time soon. Waiting another three months, nine months, or a year or two will only pull more money out of your pocket when you finally decide the time is right. The home I purchased for $350,000 five years ago is now valued over $600,000. That's not coincidence, and no, I did not put $200,000 worth of updates into it . There is no other investment vessel that can give you that level of return in that short period of time with such minimal capital. If you're on the fence about buying or upgrading your home, it is worth having a conversation to see what NOT making that move might cost you in the next five years.
