🚨 LLAlert: Lake Lanier needs your voice! 🚨

A significant project is being proposed that could expand the navigation season on the lower Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) system — and it could have implications for Lake Lanier.

Based on LLA’s analysis, we’re concerned an expanded navigation season could negatively impact Lake Lanier’s water levels, especially during dry and drought years. There are also potential environmental and economic impacts worth considering.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is currently preparing a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and is accepting public comments through September 28, 2026.
