OK. I have been asked a few times about how to prepare for the freeze. So, for the people that have never had a "Texas emergency" Here is what I do. If you have propane or natural gas then you are good with cooking and if not buy a way to cook (camping style)

1. charge all your batteries on all your devices and extra batteries.
2. Fill your bath tubs with water and fill jugs if you have them (in case you need to flush toilets)
3. Kill the water to your house either at the meter or at the house.
4. Open every faucet, tub, shower, outside faucets (remove water hose)

Doing all this after your lines have frozen is too late but still better than letting it run. Keep in mind you can turn the water back on to refill toilets or tubs but repeat the process 3 and 4 after you get everything filled. Feel free to add what you do to prep to the list. Good luck and we will rebuild...lol
