I still remember exactly where I was that morning--sitting on my couch, with my 2 year old baby boy on my lap, watching the news before heading off to work. It's what we did before the internet to find out what was happening in our world.

I was crying and terrified by what as I was seeing LIVE on my TV. The flames, the people, the destruction, the hopelessness, the shock, the anger...the overwhelming grief.

September 11, 2001 changed our world in an instant. Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger to save others, and the families who have carried this loss for 25 years.

But I also remember what came after — a country that put aside its differences and stood together as one. Neighbors helping neighbors. Flags on every porch. A unity and patriotism I hope to see again in my lifetime but not because of a tragedy.

We must never forget. 🇺🇸

TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD

The National Hurricane Center expects Edouard to strengthen before making landfall this afternoon near the Texas-Louisiana border. Rainfall of 3-6" is possible starting this afternoon, with isolated totals up to 9".

The National Weather Service's Flood Watch has been extended to 7:00 PM Wednesday for Harris County.

What should you do?

✅ Get to safety early — continue monitoring roadway conditions through Wednesday, and check the Houston TranStar live traffic map before you head out.

✅ Stay weather aware — monitor official sources like the National Weather Service for updates as conditions evolve.

✅ Have multiple ways to receive alerts — be ready to act fast if conditions change quickly.
