Meet Olgaā€™s boldest decision yet. šŸ‘‘

See those peanut-shaped cells hanging on the comb? Those are queen cells and they mean this colony has chosen to raise a brand new queen of their own.

Itā€™s called supersedure: when a colony decides itā€™s time for new royalty, the workers select a few precious larvae, feed them nothing but royal jelly, and build these vertical cradles to raise a queen. No outside help. No beekeeper intervention. Just a colony making a collective decision about its own future.

We gave them a little support, a frame of resources from a stronger sister hive, but the queen? Thatā€™s all them.
