Dahlonega Lions Club membership drive meeting. We had a great turn out for our first meeting 2 weeks ago with applications being filled out by 6 new Lions! Dave and his wife Samantha, proprietors of 52 West Brewing, are joining the Club. They are excited to host the meetings on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings of each month between 6-7pm. Since they are not open for business on Mondays it makes a great place to meet without distractions.
Also turning In applies are Bob Wilde and his wife Bonnie along with Leigh Mygas and her husband Steve.
The Dahlonega Lions Club already is gearing up to do eye screenings In all available Lumpkin County elementary and middle schools starting in January. Lions primarily help those with sight and hearing difficulties. Eye screenings help detect many issues such as Near sightedness, Far sightedness, Lazy eye, Astigmatism, Cataracts, and more that can adversely affect a child’s life if gone undetected. On average eye screenings find 20% of the eyes have problems that should be referred to local optical specialists. Yes, we have fun volunteering for doing the screenings! 🦁👍🏻.
