Today I celebrate freedom..
This is the day I honor the ancestors of this country’s black citizens.
Today is the day they were allowed to begin struggling to live free lives.
Today is the day they discovered two extra years were stolen from them.knowing what is theirs will always be in jeopardy.
Today a country ( and a state) that had taken everything away from them was caught in its continuing web of deciet that exist to this day.

Wake UP America

This is the official flag designed for today .
Who knew?
Visit any major retail store. It is not being promoted.

Today is a federal holiday.
It has nothing to do with you? GET OVER IT!

Since when does that matter?
Christmas to most is not about Christ. It’s the stuff.
Thanksgiving? Sharing the bounty replaced by foitbsll.
Easter? Brunch replaced the Resurrection.
Labor Day? No one even remembers what that means.
Memorial Day? We use it as a platform to promote war not honor the fallen.
MLK Day. A free day off. Period.

Today? Your choice.
My advice? Treat it as another rowdy summer celebration. A bridge to the 4th of July.
It’s about freedom. Freedom is proud. Freefom is noisy.

That’s as good as it gets, i’m afraid.

We need every opportunity to celebrate it because the less we care the more it vanishes.
