Here are the 2025 year-end numbers for Denton County. There are a lot of interesting pieces of information in these numbers. Overall, the median sales price of single family homes decreased by 5%, but the overall number of home sales transactions actually increased 1% year over year.

But, of course, these numbers represent the county overall. Every individual city, and every neighborhood tells a unique story. 2026 is looking like it will be a very exciting year in the real estate market. 2025 finished the year with interest rates a full percentage point lower than 2024, and many people expect rates to go down further this year.

The Fed just cut interest rates again for the third time this year. Hopefully this will mean good things heading into the New Years for home affordability. Yesterday was a really exciting day for Giving Grace! Thanks to the Denton County Commissioners Court and many other generous donors and volunteers, we were able to break ground on what will soon become the Love First Community focused on housing families experiencing homelessness in Denton and moving them from "Homeless to Healthy" I have been privileged to serve on the board for several years and am so thankful to see this dream become a reality.
