🚨 What looked like a multi billion dollar luxury waterfront paradise has now ended with a staggering $400 million fraud verdict against two Frisco businessmen. A Williamson County jury found Gopala Krishnan and Sakthivel Gounder liable for fraud and breach of contract after prosecutors said they promoted a lavish 400 acre mixed use development near Georgetown that was never intended to become reality. The victim, a Georgetown infrastructure company, says it spent millions bringing roads, utilities, water and sewer to the property before allegedly being left unpaid, forcing the owner's financial collapse. Jurors ultimately awarded more than $400 million in damages, including $300 million in punitive damages, making it one of the largest civil verdicts in the county's history. The case also renewed attention on the pair's previous ties to the Nanban Ventures investment scheme, which was previously targeted by the SEC over allegations involving more than $130 million raised from investors. While this was a civil case, not a criminal conviction, the massive judgment marks another major legal setback for the Frisco businessmen.
