We are excited to welcome Haley Coates-Huseman as our new Business Development & Loan Production Manager!

Haley was previously the Chief Real Estate Officer with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, leading the organization's overall real estate strategy. She was also a project manager for CBRE, where she worked on the planning, construction, and closeout for a 222-unit multifamily project, and Chief Advancement Officer of Jubilee Park & Community Center, where she led fundraising efforts that included $8 million for a community health clinic.

Haley is also a board member of the North Texas Regional Housing Consortium (NTXRHC), a ULI Americas P3 Project Council member, and a former Dallas Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree.

We are thrilled to – finally! – formally introduce our 2026 Associate Leadership Council (ALC) project to renovate the Braswell Child Development Center!

Since 1998, Braswell has provided high-quality early childhood education and care to more than 1,000 young students (ages 0-5) and families throughout Mill City.

As our latest Dallas Catalyst Project: Mill City investment, the project is expected to improve the safety, functionality, and overall learning experience at Braswell’s 2203 S. Second Avenue facility.

ALC class members will upgrade the building’s interior and exterior lighting, aging doors, HVAC system, security and access control systems, parking lot, as well as its recreational spaces and classrooms.

The renovations will cost approximately $135,500, with $75,000 funded from a TREC Community Investors grant. Additional funding and in-kind contributions will help expand the scope of work.

TREC Community Investors and TREC Dallas leaders toured Braswell in February, and in May class members volunteered at the school to hand out popsicles to students and gifts to teachers and administrators.

Applications for our 2026 Real Estate 101 for Nonprofits program are now available!

Our annual five-part course covers the nuances of buying, selling, and leasing nonprofit real estate space.

The program features lectures, case studies, and group discussions with local development industry professionals and nonprofit executives who have navigated major real estate decisions for their organizations.

Modules will take place monthly from August to December at our new offices at 3333 Lee Parkway. Space is limited. Candidates must be employees or board members of their registered nonprofits to be eligible for participation.

Applications will close Friday, July 17.

The big day is finally here: We're moving!

Starting Monday, June 29, TREC Dallas and TREC Community Investors will have a new home at 3333 Lee Parkway, Ste. 200, Dallas, TX 75219.

Today, our team is packing up everything in our office to prepare for the move, so please anticipate delayed email replies. We will work remotely tomorrow.

The new office will provide additional space and flexibility for us to continue serving North Texas. We can't wait for you to see it!

Feels like just yesterday that this year’s Real Estate Bootcamp was starting up. On Tuesday, the program will end with a case competition!

Our participants will put together everything they’ve learned over the last month – market and site feasibility, financial feasibility, financing, and project success – into presentations that will resemble real-world project plans.

We’re really proud of how far they’ve come in such a short time and look forward to hearing their pitches.
