This is my nephew, Blake Platte, who’s married to my remarkable niece, Ruby. I’m so proud of the two of them for making the move from South Carolina back in October 2025 to be closer to family and cousins here in Texas.

Along with their daughter, Lilly, they jumped right into a new season of life. Ruby found a wonderful job as a nurse caring for patients recovering from surgery, and Blake brought with him a well-run detailing business that services vehicles, boats, RVs, and even corporate fleets, including semi trucks.

I’ve been incredibly impressed watching how quickly they’ve plugged into the community and how fast Blake’s business has grown. If you’re looking for a dependable businessman who truly takes pride in his work, I’d highly recommend reaching out to him.

Over 32 years ago, I joined my mom in the real estate business after starting my career in advertising.
I learned work ethic by watching her help families buy and sell homes from the time I was 4 years old — yes, 58 years ago. While I was fascinated by media and advertising, I became even more intrigued by entrepreneurship, commission-based work, and the idea that my results would depend on my own drive, consistency, and willingness to build something.
My mom gave my siblings, my dad, and me the opportunity to come together and build a business as a family. We each had different strengths, but we all shared one thing in common: a passion for helping buyers and sellers achieve their real estate goals.
Over the years, this business has taught me how to be creative, innovative, and resilient. It has also opened doors far beyond selling homes — real estate investments, storage investments, regional ownership opportunities, and helping others build businesses of their own. I may not have earned a formal master’s degree in business, but life and experience have been incredible teachers.
Today, I have the privilege of helping lead more than 35 remarkable people in our DFW office as they build businesses that support their families and dreams.
We’re still growing, and we’re looking for motivated, hungry people who love helping others achieve the American dream of homeownership.
