🚨 Texas Homeowners – Important Heads-Up 🚨

Due to a new state law (SB 1801, effective 2023), appraisal districts are now periodically auditing homestead exemptions. As part of this process, some homeowners are receiving letters asking them to re-certify or reapply for their homestead exemption.

We received one from DCAD last week, and a few neighbors did as well.

👉 If you receive a notice from your appraisal district, don’t ignore it.
Failing to respond could result in losing your homestead exemption, which may significantly increase your property taxes.

✔️ This is legitimate
✔️ There is NO cost to re-certify
✔️ You only need to act if you receive a letter

If you haven’t received anything, no action is required right now.
