Instead of working for a property management company, why not get my real estate license? Wouldn't it be better to help the actual person with their specific needs instead of trying to sell them on a property that might actually not be the best place for them? Starting off as a licensed realtor, I primarily helped people find places to rent. I learned how to build up my network of people I was working with and I was able to help close to 100 people find the perfect places to live in a single year. Eventually, many of the people that I helped wanted to buy a home instead of renting one, so I transitioned into helping people on the buying side. By showing hundreds, if not thousands, of homes to all of the clients I've worked with, I gained priceless insight into the mind of the typical buyer. Knowing exactly what buyers look for has equipped me with unparalleled expertise of exactly what is the best way to prepare a home for selling on the market. Which quickly brought me to a situation where I had enough business to be content with where I was, and could just coast on repeat business and referrals - but I feel like that would be a poor use of my skills and knowledge. The wise words of Uncle Ben when talking to Peter Parker about becoming Spiderman come to mind.

Home seller tip….make sure you have eyes on your property whenever your house is vacant and on the market. A lot can happen if you’re not there….and you don’t want this to happen….immediate deal breaker for a buyer.

Home seller tip…make sure you have Lawncare scheduled if you have your house listed for sale when you move out. Otherwise, the yard and weeds will grow and ruin the curb appeal of the house. Last thing you want a buyer to think when they pull up to see your house is that you aren’t taking care of the home. “What else is the seller not attending to?”

When someone asks about negotiating commission…

I’ve learned the second you say “no, I’m not negotiable” , you lose the deal.

They’ll go find someone who is willing to have the conversation, and you’re out.

A better place to be?

👉 Be open to the conversation.

But get clear on what “negotiation” actually means to them.

Is it:

• The same work for less pay?
• More work for more pay?
• Less work for less pay?

Most of the time, it comes down to one thing…

They don’t fully see the value.

My job isn’t to immediately discount.

My job is to show that the value I bring is far greater than the cost.

Because if that wasn’t true…

I wouldn’t be in this business.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients clearly see that value.

Now the focus is simple…Getting better at communicating that value to people who don’t know me yet.

The right clients don’t hire the cheapest option.

They hire the one who helps them make the most money and avoid the biggest mistakes.
