National Dog Day
People know Sam and Cooper because they're the faces behind my tagline:
"I sell houses so my dogs can have a better life."
But before Sam and Cooper, there were others who left paw prints on my heart.
Rexford. Buster. Polly. Shadow. (and as a child, Chief/Sukie/Snowball)
Each of them taught me something different about loyalty, patience, joy, and unconditional love.
The hardest part of loving a dog is knowing that one day you'll have to say goodbye. The beautiful part is realizing they never really leave. They stay with us in the routines they inspired, the memories they created, and the love they taught us to give.
Today I'm celebrating Sam and Cooper while also remembering seven amazing dogs who crossed the Rainbow Bridge before them.
If you've loved and lost a pet, you know exactly what I mean.

The worst car ride is the one coming home with only a collar.

Buster was an incredibly special little dog. He loved to charge across the room and jump into your lap-then he would turn himself around and want you to hold him like a baby. If you rubbed his feet, well, that was nirvana for him.
