Impulse buy. Zero regrets.

I ordered a Swishball online and then… nothing. No confirmation, no receipt, no email. So I reached out, half expecting the worst.

Turns out they were so new they hadn’t set that part up yet. They were literally building it. By hand. One at a time.

And honestly? That made me feel better about the purchase.

I don’t know these founders. But I know what that season looks like — when the vision is real but the cash flow isn’t yet, and every single sale is the thing that tells you to keep going. If my order was one of the ones that kept them building, I’m good with that.

Bonus: when you’ve got a basketball player in the house, you’re always looking for the games that sharpen the skills. Are trick shots going to fix his jumper? Probably not. But there’s real touch involved here — more than I expected.

Either way, we’re going to have a blast with it. And if we take care of it, this thing outlasts a lot of what we bought this year.

If you’ve got a hooper in the house, go check out Swishball. 🏀

I’ve owned three lawn companies and ten wheelbarrows. Saturday I rented one from Home Depot.

Felt like a city boy. Or I guess at my age, a city man.

Ten wheelbarrows. I could not tell you where a single one of them is today.

Here’s how the day went:

→ Dropped the boys at practice
→ Rented the wheelbarrow (still not over it)
→ Sand was supposed to be waiting on me. It wasn’t. Five hours late.
→ So I scalped the yard instead
→ Mower broke. Fixed it.
→ Mower broke AGAIN. Fixed it again.

Between AI and my wife, I’ve now repaired that mower enough times that I’d put myself up against any small engine guy in Frisco. Not a skill I asked for. But I’ll take it.

Sand finally showed. My brother Julian grabbed a shovel. We got every bit of it spread — and still made it back in time to get the boys where they needed to be.

Nothing about that day went according to plan. Late delivery, equipment down twice, and me working with rented tools I should already own.

Got done anyway.

That’s the whole thing. Most days don’t cooperate. You finish anyway.

Me and SpaceX employee #1.

SpaceX reported earnings yesterday for the first time as a public company.

I invested years ago — multiple times. And I shared the opportunity with a lot of people. About half took it. Half didn’t.

Same thing with Bitcoin in 2015.
Same thing with eXp Realty in 2017.
Same thing when I left my job for real estate in 2001, back when the MLS still came as a printed book.
Same thing when I got into digital marketing in 2005.

Everyone who passed had one thing in common: they led with every reason it wouldn’t work.

My read? Something didn’t work out for them once. And the meaning they gave that failure is still making their decisions today.

Two of the best investments I’ve ever made went down before they went up. Both times I doubled down. Did the same thing recently with Tesla.

Real estate, Bitcoin, digital marketing, space — I did the homework every time. Got on planes. Picked up the phone and called people who’d give me a real opinion. Consumed everything I could find, from every angle.

Here’s the question I ask instead of playing defense:

What would have to be true for me to say yes?

That one question does the work. Once I can answer it, I know who to call, what to research, what’s left to find out.

I’ve watched a lot of people say no. It wasn’t logic. It was fear wearing logic’s clothes.

Say yes until you have to say no.

I think most people are quietly trying to save their way to the top. All the energy goes into not losing it instead of doubling it.

If you haven’t read The Psychology of Money, read it. That book somehow reads like it was written for whoever’s holding it.

Tom went on to found Impulse Space. Yes — I invested in that early too.

Old saying: bet on the jockey, not the horse.

This photo is from a couple months ago, when I flew to Puerto Rico. After I’d already invested. After the valuation had already doubled.

So let me ask you:

Does market cap affect an investor’s decision to invest?

And what’s the market cap of space?

**It’s Monday. I already know what Friday looks like.**

Before I drive into a two-day event today, I run the same sequence I run every Monday morning:

**1. Draw the finish line.** Not just business — health, family, money, all of it. If I can’t see what Friday’s success looks like, I’ll spend the whole week living inside somebody else’s week.

**2. Split the list.** What’s in my control. What isn’t. Most people burn Monday carrying weight they were never allowed to pick up.

**3. Find the constraint.** Not the ten problems. The ONE problem that, if I solve it, makes the other nine smaller.

Then comes the last step. The one nobody talks about.

**Goat Mountain.**

I take my one problem and I ask one question: *who has already solved this?*

Not who’s smart. Not who’s encouraging. Who has already walked through this exact wall and come out the other side.

Then I call them. On the drive in. Before the day eats me.

That’s the whole morning. 20 minutes.

Most people spend the week hunting for motivation. I spend Monday hunting for the constraint — and the GOAT who already beat it.

Friday’s already decided. I’m just driving up to go collect it. 🏔️

Two-day event starts today. Let’s work.

👇 What’s your ONE problem this week — and who’s already solved it?

Have I told you about game theory?

My mentor J Abraham asked me that on every single call. Every time. I’d say, “Yes, J — you brought it up last call.” He’d say it anyway:

**Change one rule of the game, and the whole game changes.**

Took me years to realize he wasn’t repeating himself. He was installing something.

Today I got to hand it to one of my sons.

Go search “game theory” on YouTube — watch the tournament simulation. The strategy that wins isn’t the ruthless one. It’s the one that never defects first, retaliates when crossed, forgives immediately, and stays clear about who it is.

The ones that lose? They strike first and never forgive. Win the round, lose the tournament.

That’s not a game lesson. That’s business, marriage, parenting, partnerships.

Yes, J. I was listening. 🎯

Some days you don’t need a highlight reel. You just need to be present for it.

Woke up early, fired up the sauna, went to church. Swung by the store on the way home for pizza dough and toppings — because the oven was getting lit whether the day was busy or not.

Godfather and his wife rolled through between events. Brayden brought his daughter and the kids took over the pool. Pizzas came out of the oven one after another. My brother showed up and went straight into the cold plunge, and then everybody was in the cold plunge. Mom stopped by and I made her a custom pie. Somewhere in there I asked for banana bread, because I’m not above it.

I had to bounce for a bit in the middle of all of it. Still the best kind of Sunday.

One word for today: grateful. For the people who show up, the ones who travel to be here, and a house that’s finally the place everybody wants to be.

Back to work tomorrow. 🍕

Fish caught: 0
Minutes army crawling through the brush: 10
Minutes actually fishing before he “was dying”: 20
Times he said he had a blast: every single one

We’re hitting every old farm pond in this town before the city swallows them up. Today was #1. 🎣

Pool to cool off, movie night on the back porch. Saturday closed out right.
