25 years later, September 11, 2001 still stands as a day America will never forget.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives that were taken far too soon. We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary people who ran toward danger when everyone else was trying to escape.
We remember the families who said goodbye that morning without knowing it would be the last time.
But we should also remember what came after.
For a moment, we weren’t divided by politics, opinions, backgrounds, or beliefs. We were simply Americans. Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers became family. Flags were everywhere, and this country stood together in a way that is hard to describe unless you lived through it.
Today, take a moment to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes, and appreciate the freedoms and people we sometimes take for granted.
May we never forget the tragedy of that day — and may we never forget the unity that followed.
