Stay put, people! This sheltering in place is working in Texas! Chris Kelly, our Ebby Halliday Realtors, CEO, shared this encouraging news... "Since the beginning of this health crisis, state and federal health officials have been using a model developed by The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). Over the weekend, IHME made a major update to their models, based on most current data, for the entire United States and each State. The results were a significant drop to the "worst case" scenario numbers. Below is a chart for Texas showing that based on available data, we will have sufficient hospital resources to meet our needs and the peak of the pandemic in Texas was moved from May 6th to now April 19th. The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Texas was also dropped from over 6,000 to 2,000. I share this only to simply highlight the progress our local health officials are making and the important difference everyone in our communities are making by following CDC and State and County advice."
