I remember watching the news in horror as a 10th grader in Romania. Even from across the ocean, I could feel the fear, heartbreak, and unimaginable loss.

Violence and hatred always leave innocent people carrying the deepest wounds. Today, we honor those we lost, remember the courage of those who stepped forward, and remain committed to protecting freedom while choosing unity, compassion, and peace.
