The Cattle Tell the Story.
At Superior Livestock’s 2026 Big Horn Classic, Cato Ranch’s steers did more than sell. They distinguished themselves among the market’s top lots.
The ranch’s feeder steers, averaging 825 pounds, brought $384 per hundredweight in a five-day sale that marketed more than 197,000 head.
That performance began long before sale day. Raised from Black Angus cows by Lucky 7 and Jorgenson Angus bulls, the solid-black steers are the product of abundant water, productive grasslands, deliberate genetics and an intensively managed grazing program refined over years.
