Auction or traditional listing — which is better for an estate property?
It’s one of the first questions families ask me.
The truth is, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. The right method depends on the land, the condition of the home, the buyer pool, and the family’s goals.
Auction can create urgency, transparency, and a defined timeline — especially when there are multiple heirs involved.
A traditional listing can maximize exposure and allow room for negotiation when the property supports it.
The mistake I see most often? Choosing the method before evaluating the asset.
When handling an estate, strategy comes first. The sale method should serve the property — not the other way around.
If you’re navigating an estate and unsure which direction makes sense, I’m always happy to have a confidential conversation.
