7 DE JUNIO "DÍA DE LA BANDERA PERUANA"
El 7 de Junio todos los peruanos celebramos el día de la Bandera del Perú. Conmemoramos así a nuestros valerosos hombres que, no rindiéndose ante el ejército chileno, se enfrentaron en Arica allá por el año 1880. Nuestro valeroso coronel Francisco Bolognesi fue quien organizó y dirigió la defensa peruana en Arica.
El mismo 7 de Junio, se inició el asalto chileno, la resistencia final se dio encontrando a su paso a Bolognesi, More, Alfonso Ugarte y Sáenz Peña, entre otros valientes peruanos incapaces de dar marcha atrás a la hora de defender nuestra bandera. Algunos de ellos se inmolaron, como el heroico Alfonso Ugarte quien tuvo a su cargo la defensa del Morro de Arica.
La bandera, principal símbolo de la nacionalidad, representa las glorias y sacrificios del pasado, los anhelos del presente y las esperanzas del futuro.
