🏡COMMUNITY MEMBER MONDAY this week is Kellie Edwards with Healthy Solutions GA! Kellie Edwards was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia, and is proud to call the area home. She graduated from the Dalton State Respiratory Therapy Program and has dedicated her career to helping others through healthcare. Kellie is the owner of Healthy Solutions GA and also works as a rehabilitation respiratory therapist, combining her passion for patient care with her entrepreneurial spirit.

Outside of work, Kellie enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, attending concerts, relaxing at the beach, and embracing her lifelong love of Disney World. At home, she is happily outnumbered by boys—her son, Parker, and her energetic Scottish Terrier, Shelby, keep her on her toes and ensure there is never a dull moment.

🏡COMMUNITY MEMBER MONDAY this week is Mary Mae Carter! Mary Mae Carter (Sims) was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia, and has lived in the area for most of her life. She also spent a little over a decade living and working in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. Her mother is a retired Dalton Public Schools teacher, and Mary Mae is proud to have received her education through the Dalton school system as well.

She graduated from Dalton State College with a degree in Respiratory Therapy and has worked as a Respiratory Therapist for more than 13 years. In addition to her healthcare career, she is also a certified Yoga Instructor.

When she is not working, Mary Mae enjoys practicing yoga, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Her wife, Ariel Carter, is a Registered Nurse, and together they share their home with three beloved fur babies: Molly, a Shar Pei; Ruby, a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix; and Winnie, their big gray cat.

3️⃣ Things she loves about our area...
1) Seeing how much downtown has grown over the years. When I was growing up, there were only a couple of places to go, and everything seemed to close early. It’s been wonderful to watch the area develop into a vibrant destination for the community.

2) Beautiful rolling hills and mountains that surround our area. Even after spending my entire life here, I never tire of how stunning they look in every season.

3) The way the community comes together to support those in need. It’s comforting to know that people genuinely care about one another and want to see their neighbors succeed.

"Don't compare yourself to others. I believe we are each exactly where we’re meant to be in life. Perfection isn’t the goal; embracing who we are, flaws and all, is. I’m imperfectly imperfect, and that’s perfectly okay.

🏡COMMUNITY MEMBER MONDAY this week is Amelia Kelley! Amelia Kelley lived in Cohutta as a child and now lives in the Varnell area with her husband and two children. She has lived in this area her whole life and attended Coahulla Creek High School—Go Colts!

She has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Instruction. Amelia teaches 2nd grade at Beaverdale Elementary and loves her job, believing that teaching is her earthly mission.

In her free time, she enjoys thrift shopping, trying new coffee shops, and attending festivals.

1) I enjoy this area because of the scenic views of the mountains
2) The quietness and calmness of our neighborhood

1) I worked at 2 resteraunts in the area as a server during my time in college.

"Be patient and grateful in the times you are in. More often than not I spent a lot of time stressing out about my future and getting a degree or just other personal reasons! Learn to live in the moment and take every day for what it is. Don't wish your time away because everything you experience serves you for the greater good!"
