New Listings Rise as Summer Comes to a Close
As summer winds down, we’re seeing a 1.2% increase in new U.S. home listings—reaching a three-month high. At the same time, pending sales have slipped by 1.3%, the lowest point since March. The median asking price edged down 0.1%, even with a 1.8% year-over-year rise in the median sale price. These shifts reflect the impact of higher mortgage rates and some economic uncertainty. In my decades working with Bay Area buyers and sellers—even through tough markets—I’ve found that understanding these trends can make all the difference when planning your next move.
