Celebrating 54 years! Colonial Heights Apartments was built in May of 1963 by my grandfather, Claude Dix. He, along with his wife, Katherine, and two daughters, Betty and Marie, owned and operated Colonial Heights Apartments until the Lord called them home to be with Him. Angelia Scearce Baldwin, Marie's daughter, refused to allow the family business to dissolve and be liquidated, as does happen t
o so many businesses once the third generation of a family becomes involved. Her respect, appreciation, and admiration for her loved ones, coupled with the desire to continue her family's legacy, motivated her to take the steps necessary to avoid its demise and breathe new life into Colonial Heights Apartments. As of March 2016, Angelia Baldwin became the sole, third-generation owner of Colonial Heights Apartments. She is very grateful for the opportunity to honor her mother and grandparents in this way. She believes the good Lord placed her on this path for more reasons than one and her work at Colonial Heights is not only a tribute to them but, a way in which she keeps their memory alive. She feels their presence at the apartments, always, and their continual guidance and protection are evident in every step of her journey. An additional blessing has been Trae Baldwin, the fourth generation of Colonial Heights Apartments, joining his mother, Angelia, on this incredible and rewarding journey. He is proud and honored to work alongside his mother to carry on the family legacy. We're busy improving and building upon the strong foundation that was laid 54 years ago.
