HOMEOWNERS Please Take Note: A trustworthy friend (Ryan Anderson) who is also a roofer shared this information below. It's not a bad idea to reach out to your insurance agent and make sure you fully understand your policy!

Make sure you know exactly how your policy reads. Insurance carriers have added a ton of exclusions on policies, removed small deductibles when policies renewed after July 24' and switched to % deductibles (example $450,000 home and with a $1,500 deductible could have gone to a 1% $4,500 deductible) and a lot of roofs are scheduled now. They pay a % of the roof based off the age of it and you are responsible for then deductible and also whatever they withhold based off its age. That is considered an ACV policy. You want to make sure you have an RCV policy if at all possible. This may cost a little more in premiums, but it will save you THOUSANDS if you have to file a claim.
Also, carriers have matching endorsements. Missouri is not a matching state. If you have 2 elevations of siding damaged or pieces damaged on one elevation your carrier will NOT pay for the entire house if they offer that endorsements and you don't have it one your policy.
