Less than an hour from Manhattan and located along 16 miles of Long Island Sound coastline, Darien is known for its sophisticated yet casual lifestyle enhanced by remarkable natural beauty and a school system that consistently ranks among the highest performing in the state. Darien is an active, close-knit community of 20,000 residents, who enjoy public parks and beaches, a state-of-the-art, award-winning library, the stunning new Darien High School, a fully renovated Police Station, an array of private clubs and nearby top-tier medical facilities. A new Community Center opened this fall, the YMCA has completed an extensive renovation and the Weed Beach grounds have reopened with a new bath house, paddle hut, playground and landscaping. These benefits, in addition to a long list of recreational opportunities that include sailing, golf, tennis, riding, gymnastics, skating and all forms of fitness classes, add up to a quality of life that is hard to match.
