It’s easy to have faith when everything is going great. They say right before your breakthrough, God will test you.
And boy did he.
My first 12 months in Real Estate I did just over 3 million in sales. Was a part of 10 transactions total. Representing two sellers and eight buyers. Could not be more thankful for all involved.
Had some big plans, big things on the way, financial security that you dream of, then boom… My Mother dies.
5-6 months later, My Step Father dies.
2-3 months after that, my first cousin Keri, gone.
Had to walk away from a job because it was not right for my mental health at the time, I returned far too soon. Started working a month after my Mom’s funeral.
Then the anger, sadness, depression, insomnia, pain hit me like an 18 wheeler full of dynamite and gunpowder.
I didn’t want to talk. I didn’t want to see anyone. I didn’t want to do anything. I couldn’t even if I wanted to on most days.
I didn’t run from it or hide the pain behind substances or alcohol, even though I do have a much better understanding of why a lot of people have those kinds of issues after losing loved ones.
No matter how bad it got, I always spoke love and life into myself. I may be going through it today but tomorrow will be a better day. If not tomorrow, then the day after that. And if not that day, then the day after that. This went on for an entire year.
Then the light started shining through more and more everyday. Some days the darkness returns but it doesn’t stay even close to as long as it did before. I see the beauty in it all.
Now here we are!
After a year away from the Real Estate world, I have just sold a 1.84 acre lot. Thankful for the help of my Team ROSO teammates Jen Mota-Couto, for the connection, and Sandra Paiva Almeida, for representing the Buyer in this transaction. Thank You to Patrick Walsh & Title & Closing for getting this deal closed in two weeks!
I would like to give an even bigger Thank You to my family and friends for being there for me. And of course to my Mom, Step-Dad, and cousin for guiding me from above throughout all the adversity I had to get through just to be able to enjoy the simple things in life again.
Now let’s get back to business!
