Welcome to Golden Hour.
The first-floor king bedroom faces west, and I happened to be in the room at just the right moment one late afternoon. The way the sun filtered in caused me to immediately think, “Golden Hour.”

This is a place to just relax after a day in the parks. With a full bath right next door, it’s also a perfect room for anyone in your group who simply cannot fathom climbing stairs after logging 10,000 steps in the parks.

We’re adding a new bed frame and dresser to match the nightstands later this month (they were back-ordered). I love the way the blue swirl in the new lamps adds both movement and sophistication, and the painting - an Amazon find - has that touch of the golden sunset that inspired the room.

I still have the feeling that the room is missing one little thing, but I haven’t figured out what it is yet. Suggestions welcome.
