𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞… 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥.

The man was born in 𝟏𝟗𝟑𝟕. A whole generation that didn’t make excuses—they made moves.

Just listening to him, it’s clear his inner monologue is something like:
𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘵. 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢** 𝘶𝘱, 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘱 𝘶𝘱. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴—𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥.

Sunny (race-hustling as always):
"I am just so honored to meet you all. I will be honest, I’m just looking at Lando Calrissian in my mind and Lady Sings the Blues and Mahogany and Just Right. So you did start, as what we said, in the industry at a time when few 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 were on TV and in movies—"

Billy:
"𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫."

Sunny (clearly flustered):
“Yes… well, a 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧.”

Billy:
“𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧-𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝. A brown-skinned man.”

Sunny (still trying):
“Yes, brown-skinned man… and early on, you struggled to find work. Being offered either stereotypical roles or nothing at all. Did you ever think about quitting? And if you didn’t, what kept you going?”

Billy:
“You know, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and do what you have to do. And 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 things to not always go your way.”
