Rhododendrons have a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to propagation. They can be multiplied through air layering or stem cuttings, and they’re even skilled in self-propagation by sending up shoots from their roots. Sometimes, a wayward branch will decide it prefers life on the ground and roots itself in the damp mulch, creating a new plant that can eventually be snipped off and sent out into the world on its own.
Watching these rhododendron blossoms reminds me that the school year is winding down and summer is sneaking up on us, just like those sneaky rhododendron branches!
