Home Buyers:
Let's talk about home inspections and why they are important to get when purchasing a house.
1. They protect you-a home inspection contingency allows you to catch defects in a property, and ask for them to be repaired by a professional.
2. Keeps you from making an expensive mistake- If your inspection catches a major defect that is hidden away and can't be cured without a super major expense(assuming neither party wants to pay for it), it gives you the ability to back out and keep you from buying a property. Without one, you don't have that option.
3. Peace of mind- Even if you are getting a home inspection and not asking for repairs, it is good to know everything about a property so that you know what to monitor and look out for in the future.
4. They are a great learning experience and can help you understand a lot about how a house functions and what to look for when doing future projects in your house.
