What IS success? Being a real estate agent, there is much focus in our office about "success," especially now, this being business planning season as the year draws to a close. In my high school class I was voted class daydreamer, probably by a landslide. If memory serves, there was even a picture of me sleeping in class in the yearbook.
I still have big dreams, but also take action, and agree with the probably ancient saying that if people don't laugh at your dreams, you're not dreaming big enough.
I probably got a lot less votes for "most likely to succeed", though I did succeed in getting pretty good grades without ever having done any "homework" at home. That time was for things I enjoyed, including more sleeping.
Anyhoo, this got me thinking about the degree to which I have succeeded. Which is atypical for yours truly, being present and forward focused, by and large.
In business terms, I'm doing quite alright, but am neither rich, nor making a huge income by US standards (maybe by global standards); but far more importantly, I've had a rich set of life experiences, had lots of fun, made and continue to make and enjoy the company of great and very diverse friends, have an awesome family, believe I have by and large had a positive effect on the energy field, judging from the feedback I get from other living beings, at least as of late, and have spent my time doing things I enjoy or at least find tolerable an exceptionally large percentage of the time, compared to most.
Therefore, I consider my life quite the success, all told, and feel the best is still to come. Love all y'all, and wish you great success in leading the sort of lives you want.
