Sometimes it’s not the big things that hurt a property’s value—it’s the little things buyers notice first.

Overgrown landscaping, deferred maintenance, clutter, plumbing issues, and damaged fencing can all make a property less appealing and cost you money when it’s time to sell.

The good news? Most of these issues can be fixed without spending a fortune.

A little work before listing can often lead to a better first impression, more buyer interest, and a stronger offer.

Thinking about selling? We’d be happy to help you determine what improvements are worth making and what you can skip.

One of the best parts of this job? Helping people start new chapters. 📖

Whether it’s a first home, more space for a growing family, or downsizing to enjoy small-town life, we would be honored to be part of the story.

If your next chapter involves a move in North Alabama or the surrounding area, we’d love to help you write it. Let’s talk about what’s next.

This transaction required patience, time, and a lot of heart.

A quick sale would have been ideal, but our client’s needs always come first. She was selling her cherished childhood home — a place filled with memories — and the decision to downsize wasn’t easy. Her one wish was simple: that the property go to someone who would continue the legacy and love of horses she and her family built here.

The perfect buyer did come along, though they also needed to sell their own home first. With patience, constant communication, and teamwork, we successfully closed yesterday.

It was a bittersweet goodbye for our sellers and a joyful new beginning for a couple who shares the same passion for farm life. Thank you for trusting us with the sale of your family farm.

A special thank you to Teri Watson of MarMac Real Estate — your professionalism and partnership as the buyer’s agent were instrumental in getting this to the closing table.

If you are looking to sell your home, let us work for you!

⚠️Caution Advised⚠️on all area lakes over the next 24-72 hours. TVA will be opening spillways and increasing hydro releases to assist in moving the significant rains experienced today. Dangerous currents, swift water, and increased water debris (ie- stumps, logs, and runoff trash) are expected along the Tennessee River. ❗️PLEASE ❗️wear lifejackets and have your throwable PFD readily available. Alert family of your float plan and docking time if on the water this week.

One of the many things we love about Alabama ! 💚

Most people don't know that Alabama hosts one of the most spectacular wildlife events in the entire eastern United States — and it happens every single winter right here in the Tennessee Valley. 🦅

Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge in Decatur is the winter home of tens of thousands of sandhill cranes, and when they lift off at sunrise, the sky goes dark with wings. 🌅 The ancient, rattling call of the cranes rolling across the water is something you feel in your chest before you ever see them.

The refuge has been protecting this stretch of the Tennessee River since 1938, and every November through February, birdwatchers travel from across the country to witness what Alabamians have quietly known about for generations.

Have you ever seen the crane migration at Wheeler? Drop your story below — or tag someone who needs to make the drive up to Decatur this winter! 👇

Weather update Saturday 10:49am

Severe Weather Update for Lawrence County

Good morning everyone, I’m providing an update regarding the potential for severe weather late Sunday night into Monday morning.

According to the latest briefing from the National Weather Service, a line of severe thunderstorms is expected to move across our area Sunday night into early Monday morning. The main threats with this system will be widespread damaging winds and the possibility of a few tornadoes.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed Lawrence County and much of northwest and north-central Alabama under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe weather Sunday night.

After the storms move through, we are also expecting much colder temperatures to arrive Monday and Tuesday, with wind chills potentially dropping into the teens by Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service will be conducting another briefing webinar at 1:30 PM today, and I will relay any updates or important information they provide following that briefing.

Lawrence County EMA will continue to monitor this system closely and will keep the public updated as we receive new information.

Now is a good time to:
• Review your severe weather safety plan
• Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
• Know where you will go if a warning is issued
