Like nearly 99% of all Realtors, real estate was not my first profession. In fact, I was 48 when I decided to enter the real estate field in 2007. My only regret is that I didn’t choose to do so sooner. I was born, raised and still reside in Bethany, IL with my wife, Joan. It is there we raised our four children where we did our best to instill the good old-fashioned small town values that we were
raised up to live by. We currently have three wonderful grandchildren. Just out of high school I entered the Army and proudly served my country for three years. I was stationed at the Panama Canal when the United States turned the control of the Canal over to Panama. I also served in Korea in the DMZ running missions. My military background has provided me a marketable skill in the real world and in real estate, as I love to hunt. Hunting and fishing is not a hobby or sport to me as much as a way to fill our freezer and feed the family. I have become a skilled butcher and handle it all from kill to table. There is a little pioneer spirit in me that makes me realize and value the basic needs of life and the provision of our Lord to meet those needs. After the Army I went to work for a local industry as a production welder and also worked as a part time farmhand. In 1996 I suffered a severe work injury and that ended my career in manufacturing. After a few years of doing what I could to provide for my family while disabled, I was invited by a friend to check out the real estate business. After checking out the requirements not only from the licensing standpoint but from the service side as well, I felt comfortable pursuing a career in real estate. I obtained my real estate license in 2007. I started at a small real estate office until I was recruited by Carla Brinkoetter to join the Brinkoetter Team. After being in a small office I wasn’t sure how it would work out with a company that is considered, and is, the area’s largest real estate company. What I discovered was that Brinkoetter IS big – one big, happy family. The support from the management, staff and fellow agents is the best. In-house training is ongoing and keeps us all up on the constant changes within the real estate industry. Since joining Brinkoetter, I have enjoyed sales production in the multi-million dollars. More importantly, I have had time after time and client after client, the opportunity to help people with one of, if not the biggest and most important, purchase of their lives – a home!!! Those old-fashioned, small town values have served me well as I guide buyers and sellers through the maze of buying or selling a home. I appreciate the value of communicating honestly and consistently with my clients. I appreciate the value of providing good information so they can make the best possible decisions. I value my client’s needs and desires above anything else. From small town to military to manufacturing and finally real estate, I have gathered a world of knowledge, experience and genuine concern for my clients.
