When deciding where to spend money getting your home ready to sell, the front facade should be at the top of your list. Paint, flooring, and a deep clean are the minimum you need to address to present an attractive house to buyers. Curb appeal is what makes them fall in love. With this upcoming listing, we replaced broken sconces, removed an awkward metal door that used to have screens (and saved it in the garage for historic purists), stained and sealed the door, painted the iron railing and door hardware, and pressure washed the stairs and walkway.

Sometimes the closing is anti-climactic. The seller is out of town; her daughter-in-law acts as power of attorney. The buyers sign separately. A quiet ending to a fast sale obscures the village that makes it all possible. No job was too small for my handyman Aaron Tozer-Rich, my junk haulers Discount Junk Removal - Atlanta, GA came out twice, and the hard working buyers’ agent Carson Cowan, Atlanta Realtor pulled his weight and then some. Imagine living in a house on over a half acre of woods with a stream. A stream in which neighbors say they have seen otters. Overhead, hawks soar. At night, owls hoot. This oasis in Druid Hills is not only private and peaceful, but a pleasant walk to Emory, the CDC, coffee shops and restaurants, and a grocery store. Coming this week!

To paint or not to paint, that is the question. And the answer is almost always yes, paint! By choosing neutral paint colors, you help more buyers envision living in your home. Go ahead and paint the walls whatever you like when you’re living there, but when you prepare your house to sell, it’s a product that you want to have broad appeal.
