This roof was missing "drip-edge" flashing and "kickout" flashing, which diverts water away from the wall and into the gutters. The home was 20 years old with the original roof and there were no signs of previously installed flashing, meaning this has been an issue the entire time. Unfortunately, this resulted in water running behind the gutter, down the wall and against the foundation.

Always get a home inspection before moving in!

Does your home inspector use a drone? 🛩️

When roofs are too steep to safely walk, drone inspections can make all the difference. Check out these images from a recent inspection: one shows a steep roof we couldn’t access on foot 🏠, and the other reveals a damaged shingle on the ridge, leaving the roof decking exposed and vulnerable to water damage😱. Thanks to drone technology, it was determined that the roof was beyond its serviceable life due to extensive wear throughout, and in need of replacement.

🚨 TERMITES + MOISTURE INTRUSION = A HOMEOWNER'S NIGHTMARE 🏚️🐜💧

This home was a "flip" — stunning inside and out ✨ — but the structural integrity and major systems told a different story. 😬

❌ No termite inspection
❌ No treatment
➡️ Result: The entire front half of the flooring structure had to be replaced! 😱

The landscaping was built up too high against the siding, trapping moisture and giving termites the red-carpet treatment to a 5-star meal! 🍽️
