Such a heartfelt tribute... It’s hard to believe Tim is gone. He lived life with great passion, loved his family and friends deeply, and cared for the people of this town. We thank Councilman Billy Costello for honoring Mayor Tim in such a beautiful way. Because of your friendship with Tim, Billy, I know this is a tough time for you.

It is with profound sadness to share the passing of our Mayor Tim Verzal.

Mayor, Tim Verzal is a long-time resident and active member of the Deer Park Community. The Continued growth and development of the City is important to Tim because of his genuine love of the area and its incredible people. Tim is the proud Father of a Son and three Daughters, as well as four granddaughters. Tim cares a great deal about our local businesses and is invested in improving the City's economic and aesthetic qualities. His primary goal during his time as Mayor is to make Deer Park a City where anyone would be proud to live.

Rest in peace, Mayor Tim Verzal.

💙 With Deepest Sympathy, We Remember Mayor Tim Verzal 💛

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Mayor Tim Verzal.

Mayor Tim leaves behind a lasting legacy in Deer Park, but what I will remember most is the way he made people feel welcomed and supported.

When I first came to Deer Park, Tim handed me his card and said, “I’m the mayor, and if anyone gives you a hard time, you tell them you know the mayor and they’ll take care of everything.” 😂 That was Tim, welcoming, encouraging, and always ready to help make something happen.

I’m not sure who can officially take credit for dreaming up Friday Night on Main, it may have come from our little core revitalization group, but I do know this: Mayor Tim was instrumental in making our very first Friday Night on Main happen in 2025. He believed in bringing people together and helped turn an idea into something our community could enjoy.

And I know that is only one small example. There are undoubtedly countless things throughout Deer Park that Tim quietly encouraged, facilitated, supported, or helped bring to life, things that are now simply part of what makes our community special.

His impact will continue to be felt in the community he served and in the lives of the people who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mayor Tim, you will be deeply missed, and you will be forever remembered. 💙💛

For generations, buildings like the Olsen Building have been places where people came to work, build businesses, serve their neighbors, and create a life for their families.

Today, we celebrate all of the hardworking people who keep that tradition alive, our small business owners, employees, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and everyone whose hands and determination help build our community.

We’re especially grateful for the wonderful businesses and people who bring the Olsen Building to life every day. ❤️

Here’s to honoring the work of those who came before us, supporting those working hard today, and continuing to restore a piece of Deer Park history for the generations still to come.
