Hopefully everyone has the snow cleared 3ft around your fire hydrant with a path to the road. Now its time to make sure you cleared the ice and snow away from your gas meter. The image below is a great example of how you'll want your gas meter to look once you have cleared the snow. Accumulated ice and snow can stress the piping on your gas meter which can lead to a leak or create an unsafe condition. As a reminder, if you ever smell gas inside your home please evacuate immediately and call 9-1-1.

Taxpayers will now be able to split their property tax payment into 4 payments for this year, as opposed to the original 2, including business owned properties.

Here's how it will lay out: 25% of total bill due June 8th, 25% due August 8th, 25% due September 8th and 25% due November 8th.

This will also push back any tax sale date by 60 days as well. Effectively, this helps eliminate some late payments, interest and penalties.

If you escrow your property taxes with the bank, this will have no effect, as the bank will pay out of your escrow as they see fit. This affects only those who pay their property taxes to the Treasurer, not those who escrow their property taxes.
