Whenever I’m in Hicksville, I ALWAYS take the opportunity to grab a few fried pies from Hershberger’s Fine Foods / Turnover Creations. 🥧❤️

Did you know they made ELEVEN THOUSAND pies last week?! 😳 And I only ate TWO! 😂

The pies were the perfect addition to our staff meeting because every meeting is better with a fried pie, right?! 😉

Trust me, they’re worth the “short scenic drive to Hicksville, Ohio”… as the Jim Schmidt Family of Dealerships used to say back in the ’80s.

And if you’re wondering how I remember a tagline from almost 40 years ago… it’s because that business is home to some of my favorite people! ❤️ Apparently, good people, good memories, and good fried pies are hard to forget. 🤣

And while you’re making that short scenic drive, you might as well stop by the dealership, too! After all, some traditions are worth keeping alive. 🚗😉

Some places are more than a business…they become part of the fabric of a community. ❤️

Meek's Pastry Shop has been a downtown cornerstone for generations, with families coming through the doors year after year to enjoy a favorite treat, a familiar smile, and a little sweetness.

But what I love most is the generosity behind the business. They have such kind hearts, even sharing donuts and Pepsi with a special friend to our downtown. They genuinely care about her, check in to make sure she’s doing well, and make her feel seen and valued. 🥰

I love fall… but don’t tell summer I said that. 🍂🎃😉

There’s just something about pumpkins and mums at our front door that makes me happy. I love decorating our front door and making it festive, fun, and most of all, welcoming. 🧡

Kircher's Flowers and Garden Center in Defiance has always been our favorite place to get pumpkins. The bumpy ones, the white ones, the REALLY, REALLY big ones… and somehow, we always find room for just one more. 😂🎃

When the fellas were little, we’d stop almost every Friday to pick out another pumpkin. Those little traditions became some of my favorite memories, and now, seeing those pumpkins on our front porch takes me right back to those days.

Maybe that’s why I love real estate so much. A house is more than walls, rooms and a front door. It’s where you create traditions, welcome the people you love, celebrate the seasons, and make memories that stay with you long after the pumpkins are gone. 🏡❤️

🎳 LOCAL BUSINESS SHOUTOUT! 🎳

Fall weather is starting to make its way to Ohio, and when a rainy weekend is on the weather forecast… you do what Midwesterners have been doing for generations — GO BOWLING! 💪🎳

We had such a fun afternoon yesterday spending time with family and introducing our exchange student from Thailand to a little piece of good old-fashioned Midwest Americana. 🇹🇭❤️🇺🇸

There’s just something about a bowling alley — the sound of the pins, a little friendly competition, some questionable bowling scores… and, of course, those incredibly stylish bowling shoes. 👟🔥 Honestly, we mostly keep coming back for the fashion. Velcro for the easy slip off/on, baby! 😅🙌

We love supporting our local businesses and making memories right here in our own community. So here’s your reminder: the next time the Ohio fall weather ruins your outdoor plans, grab your family or friends and GO BOWLING! 🎳 I already texted our Go Giver Team & suggested some bowling for team bonding here soon!

☕️ Saturday mornings are one of my favorite traditions.

During the fall and winter, you’ll usually find Kevin and me at our local coffee shop, Cabin Fever. When the weather warms up, we are at a different coffee shop in a different small town and even a different state, because the Hoosier State is our second home! ❤️ ☀️

Those mornings give us time to catch up, plan the week ahead, and sometimes dream a little farther into the future.

At Cabin Fever, we’re always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. And if a certain barista is working, she’ll recite my order before I even say a word! 😂☕️

That kind of consistency and personal service means something to me and it’s exactly what I strive to bring to my real estate clients: dependability, trust, communication, and consistency. 🏡

Great small businesses build great communities, and great communities are what make a place feel like home.
