🏡Homebuyers🏡

I have been asked recently by Homebuyers what do they need to do to start the home buying process.

First thing is you want to get pre-approved by your preferred Lender or Mortgage Company. Don’t have one? No problem I work with many lenders and Mortgage Companies to help guide you on starting the home buying process.

Many buyers think:

1. My credit score is too low. Many times there’s ways around this depending on your score(always ask your lender what options you have) do you have a large down payment? Do you have someone that might co-sign? Many Lenders and Mortgage Companies offer Down Payment Assistance always check around to get the best options for you.

2. I haven’t been at my job long enough. Typically a 2 year work history is what lenders are looking for(this does not have to be at the same company but preferably in the same industry) If you do not have 2 years of work history, lenders may require a down payment, consistent income to ensure the income is stable, having a high credit score and a low Debt to Income may help offset a short work history.

3. The Interest Rates are too high. The good news is you can refinance in 1 year sometimes sooner for a lower payment. Another option to pay or ask the seller to pay an up front fee(a buydown) or discount points for a lower rate.
