Just a friendly update to anyone with code enforcement liens
Walton County Code Compliance Director Tony Cornman, on behalf of the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, has announced a temporary Code Enforcement Lien Mitigation Program that offers property owners a significant financial reprieve.
Approved by the Board at their regular meeting on May 26, 2026, this limited-time initiative allows qualifying property owners to fully resolve outstanding code fines and liens by paying just 10% of the total balance, effectively forgiving 90% of the debt.
The program is officially open and will conclude on September 30, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements:
• The property must currently be in full compliance with all county codes.
• All associated administrative fees must be paid in full.
• The owner cannot own any other properties with active code violations.
Property owners with active, non-compliant code cases who are currently accruing daily fines are also eligible to participate. To qualify, owners must resolve all outstanding violations, achieve full compliance, and meet all program criteria prior to the September 30 deadline.
