Wednesday night, April 23, was a big night for Barrio Logan College Institute, the organization’s annual fundraiser--Opportunity for Impact. The event raised approximately $450,000 for the organization, which relies on donations for its operating expenses.

This week our principal, Keegan McNamara and Oscar Uranga received unanimous City Council approval to move forward with an annexation of 17 acres from the County into the City of Escondido. The future development will be a village of for-sale homes. I'm super excited to see this project moving forward. This first step will allow us to proceed with a general plan amendment and zone change for the property.

We value our membership in the BIA—San Diego, the organization exists to represent the many companies that plan, design and build the many places where San Diegans live, work and play. Our Principal, Keegan McNamara, attended the Building Industry Association of San Diego Industry Association (BIA) Meet The Builders event at the Coaster Room / Belmont Park last week. He said, it was great to hear from some of the titans of San Diego's building industry. The discussion covered the many challenges of building in different jurisdictions. The consensus was it's difficult everywhere, yet the good news is the City of San Diego got relatively high marks due to the zoning changes they've made over the last several years.
