Where design meets how we live.

This month’s Designer Spotlight is Tracy Lynn Studio, a San Diego design firm I admire for its thoughtful approach and genuine ability to listen to its clients.

Tracy’s journey began in 2002, after remodeling her own home and discovering a talent for bringing every detail together, from contractors and kitchen plans to flooring and window treatments. Her friend Kim Santos saw that talent too and became her very first client.

More than 20 years later, that same attention to detail remains at the heart of the studio.

To me, great design is about more than a beautiful space. It’s about creating a home that feels personal, sophisticated, and truly reflective of the people who live there.

One feature that caught my attention is legendary surfer Kelly Slater, whose story goes far beyond his incredible career. His influence on surf culture, commitment to innovation, and focus on sustainability make for a fascinating read.

Summer may be winding down, but San Diego isn’t slowing down just yet. ☀️

August is one of my favorite times to enjoy everything that makes North County feel like home.

A day at the coast. The Del Mar racing season. Local art. Outdoor activities. Family-friendly events. There are still plenty of ways to get outside and make the most of these last few weeks of summer.

One of the things I love most about living in North County is that the San Diego lifestyle isn’t just about where you live. It’s about how you spend your time once you’re home.
