I’ve toured 16+ homes this month, and one topic keeps coming up over and over again: basement and foundation cracks.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that every crack means a deal breaker. The real question I’m asking with my clients is:

➡️ Is there movement?
➡️ Does it need repair, or is it something to simply monitor?
➡️ If repairs are needed, does that change the value of the home for you?

Not every foundation issue means you should walk away. Sometimes the answer is as simple as bringing in a reputable foundation specialist and understanding your options. Even if a wall needs bracing, the bigger question becomes:

“If the issue can be properly remedied, is this still the right home for you?”

Buying a home isn’t about finding perfection—it’s about understanding what you’re purchasing and moving forward with confidence.

Having trusted professionals in your corner and asking the right questions can make all the difference. My goal is never to create fear, but to provide information so my clients can make educated decisions and feel confident every step of the way.

If you ask me where I’d go for the perfect staycation, my answer will always be Door County. ❤️

One of the things I love most about living in Wisconsin is that you can pack up the car, load up the family, and in less than three hours feel like you’ve escaped to a completely different world.

There’s just something special about Door County. It’s like taking a deep breath for your soul. 😌

From strolling farmers markets and listening to live music, to taking the kids to The Farm, enjoying boat rides, shopping the charming towns, Wood Orchard Market, hiking scenic trails, exploring Cave Point, and soaking in some of the most beautiful waterfront views Wisconsin has to offer, it truly feels like a dream getaway right in our own backyard.

Door County also holds a special place in our family story. Adam and I had our very first date there, and over the years it has become an anchor in our lives. It’s where memories have been made, traditions have begun, and even where I first felt Caroline kick. ❤️

Now, watching Caroline experience the simple joys of Door County makes it even sweeter.

Whether we’re enjoying a day on the lake, discovering a new hidden gem, or simply slowing down and spending uninterrupted time together, Door County reminds me that some of the best places don’t require a plane ticket—just the people you love most.

As a Realtor, I spend a lot of time helping people find “home,” and places like Door County remind me that home isn’t just where you live—it’s where your heart finds rest.

Allow me to introduce myself.

Hi, I’m April! 👋🏻

I’m a Realtor with First Weber, and I love helping buyers and sellers navigate one of the biggest milestones in their lives. Whether it’s finding the perfect home, negotiating a competitive offer, or helping someone move on to their next chapter, I truly enjoy being part of the journey.

But there’s more to me than real estate! ❤️

I’ve been with my partner, Adam, since 2018, and together we’re raising our amazing daughter, Caroline. Family is at the center of everything I do, and if I’m not showing homes or writing offers, you’ll probably find me spending time with them, enjoying the outdoors, or celebrating all of Caroline’s milestones.

Something many people may not know about me: I spent 174 days with Caroline in the Children’s Hospital NICU during the beginning of her life. Through one of the most challenging seasons of our lives, God carried us every step of the way. That experience taught me the importance of faith, patience, gratitude, and finding joy in the little victories—lessons that I carry with me both personally and professionally.

I believe real estate is about so much more than buying and selling houses. It’s about relationships, trust, and helping people through some of life’s biggest moments. My goal is to be someone my clients can count on long after closing day.

The buyer’s market is absolutely cutthroat right now. My buyers have stayed fully engaged through countless showings and submitted several very competitive offers, only to hear the words, “The sellers decided to go with another offer.” More times than anyone would like.

But every disappointment became a learning opportunity. We refined our strategy, stayed focused, and kept moving forward. Giving up was never an option.

Then THE house came along.

From the moment they walked through the door, it was clear there was something special about Washington Ave. They locked in, trusted the process, and knew exactly what needed to be done to come out on top. Their perseverance and willingness to listen to my advice and guidance made all the difference.

One of my favorite calls to make in real estate was telling them:

This one didn’t last long! After hitting the market, the very first showing resulted in an incredible offer that my seller was excited to accept.

The buyer absolutely fell in love with the home and is thrilled to call it their own. It’s always rewarding when the right buyer and seller come together so quickly.

I’m especially happy for my sellers, who can now focus on their upcoming move out of state knowing they won’t have any loose ends to worry about here in Wisconsin.
