Today marks 10 years since the tragic events at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

At Compass Oak Realty, we pause to remember the 49 innocent lives lost, honor the survivors, and keep in our thoughts the families, friends, first responders, and countless others forever impacted by that day.

For our Broker Owner, Frank Hahnel, this remembrance is deeply personal. As a lifelong Central Floridian, he responded alongside the Orlando Police Department's Crime Scene Unit to assist with the forensic documentation of the active crime scene using advanced 3D laser scanning technology.

Even a decade later, the memories remain vivid and serve as a reminder of our community's strength, resilience, and unity in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Today, we honor those who were taken far too soon and reaffirm our commitment to compassion, service, and standing together as neighbors.

One of my favorite parts of real estate is welcoming people to our community.

This week, some VIP clients traveled to Florida to continue their home search, and before they even checked into their hotel, a welcome basket was waiting for them.

Transform386 is hosting application intake events at local libraries throughout Volusia County to help homeowners apply for the Homeowner Recovery Program. Staff will be on-site from 4–6 p.m. at each event to answer questions, assist with applications, and help scan/upload documents. No registration is required to attend.

Pathways in the program assist with:
• Home repairs and rebuilding
• Reimbursement for eligible completed repairs
• Voluntary buyout assistance for repeatedly flooded homes
• Match assistance for homeowners who need help covering required upfront costs for other recovery programs
