What's behind the name? Why Hobbs' Meadow Estates? In the summer of 1843 the first settler, Charles Hobbs, came to Delhi, the newly chosen county seat of Delaware County, Iowa. He made his claim and erected a log cabin. The cabin is gone, but the chimney remains on its original site. The name Hobbs' Meadow Estates was chosen for the new development to pay homage to the first settler family. The fact that the land that makes up the development was part of Charles Hobbs' claim makes the name even more fitting!
